Composer David Lang: Presentation and Masterclass

Boston University School of Music’s Center for New Music presents composer David Lang for a presentation on his music and a masterclass, held in conjunction with the Boston University Choral Program’s performance of Lang’s The National Anthems on December 5, 2026. Lang is one of the most widely performed American composers of his generation. His music encompasses chamber music, orchestral works, opera, and large-scale vocal works, and his the little match girl passion received the 2008 Pulitzer Prize for Music. He is also a co-founder and co-artistic director of Bang on a Can.During his visit to Boston University, Lang will discuss his music and compositional practice and work directly with BU student composers in a masterclass.
